An expression of shared love in the Dales
One of my most favourite places in the Yorkshire Dales, and I am sure I am not alone here, was Horton in Ribblesdale underneath Pen Y Ghent. It sits on the Pennine Way and is home to many generations of runners, walkers, cavers and cycle cross enthusiasts back in the day.
I have so many fond memories of pint mugs of tea, right back to being a young teenager, exhausted after a day on the three peaks of Yorkshire, late night arrivals to do the same many years later sat in the van in the car park next-door, the Pennine Way stops and the endless hot sugared tea.
Featured in the image are pen y ghent in the distance, a piece of the famous limestone pavement from the area, fell runners on the three peaks of yorkshire 23 mile annual race, a pair of golden plovers, the pen y ghent café, and a couple on a stone wall sharing and enjoying the beautiful view with cow parsley and buttercup.
