A musical tradition
Ben Nevis, Beinn Nibheiss in Gaelic is the highest mountain in the British Isles.
The summit is 1,345 metres (4,411 ft) above sea level. Ben Nevis stands at the western end of the Grampian Mountains in the Highland region of Lochaber, close to and looking over the town of Fort William. Famous for its summit Observatory dating back to the 1870s, the tourist path the zig-zags, a destination for walkers, mountaineers, world class ice climbers and now a legendary buried piano.
